My husband asked if the e-book gift vouchers available at W H Smith were compatible with a Kindle, a staff member assured him "Yes they are". 1st mistake... When he found out that this was wrong and went back he was then told "We can't do anything, ring customer services". 2nd mistake...
Customer services said, "Oh no, you can't have a refund, we'll send you an ordinary gift voucher". 3rd mistake....
The fact that he bought the e-book voucher on the strength of misinformation and wouldn't have bought a general gift voucher doesn't seem to cut any ice with Smith's customer "service" department, why should they care they're £15 better off and I will have a voucher for a shop I don't use.
